Sealed Bids for the construction of 28KA-4531-01 Farmland Road Improvements will be received by City of Garden City in person and by mail at the City Administrative Center to “Engineering Services”; 301 N. 8th Street, PO Box 998, Garden City, KS 67846 until 11:00 am local time on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after that time will be returned unopened.
The work consists of the following major items (approximate):
23,414 SY pavement removal, 17,650 SY 8” NRDJ concrete pavement, 26,000 SY aggregate base, cement treated subgrade, 2,229 SY 8” reinforced concrete pavement, 1441 LF RCP, gravel drives, water system relocations, pavement markings, signing, seeding, and other miscellaneous work.

Printed copies are not available from the City or Issuing Office and must be arranged independently by the prospective bidder. Contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. must register or log-in to view and/or download Bidding Documents. Complete sets of Bidding Documents must be used in preparing Bids; neither OWNER nor ENGINEER assumes any responsibility for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete sets of Bidding Documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
This project is a joint project between the City of Garden City and Finney County, administered by the City. Bids are solicited by and the construction contract will be with the City of Garden City. This Project is funded in part by the Kansas Department of Transportation. Bidders must meet KDOT prequalification requirements. The project does not contain federal funds.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least thirty (30) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
