Coronavirus (COVID-19) HOTLINE Available 24/7 for Finney County

Dear Residents of Finney County,With the recent talk about Coronavirus (COVID-19) we want to assure you that your health and safety is our top priority. The Finney County Health Department is working closely with other local and regional agencies to prepare a community-wide plan for management of the event of any Coronavirus (COVID-19) occurrence in Finney County or the surrounding region. Finney County has zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 at this time.


If you have recently traveled to a known infected area, have had exposure to someone who has COVID-19, or are experiencing mild to severe respiratory illness, including fever, cough, and shortness of breathplease call Finney County’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) Hotline, at 620.272.3600.

Do not show up to your healthcare facility without receiving prior instructions from the hotline. 


How is the virus spread? 

  • Primary method of spread: person-to-person through close contact (6 feet).
  • Respiratory droplets produced by an infected person when they cough or sneeze.
  • Secondary method of spread: through a contaminated object.


If you are sick:

  • Call the HOTLINE before visiting your doctor.
  • Stay home except to get medical care, including avoiding public areas. Wear a face mask when you are around other people and before you enter the clinic.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes, and clean all highly used surfaces daily.
  • Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds; use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if washing is not an option; avoid touching your face.
  • Monitor your symptoms and seek prompt medical attention if symptoms are worsening.
  • Call 620.272.3600 before going to your provider.

 

Practice Preventative Actions
