Motor Vehicle Clerk - County Treasurer

    Clerical position in Motor Vehicle office of the County Treasurer.  The position assists the public in matters related to personal          property tax payments and is responsible for collection of payments and distribution of vehicle registration plates.  This position      is under the direct supervision of the County Treasurer.   

Registered Dietitian – WIC

The position is responsible serving as the Registered Dietitian and Breastfeeding Peer Counselor.  The position monitors the breastfeeding program.  Responsible for providing general health and nutrition education to pregnant women, newborns, children and their families. The position is under the general supervision of the WIC Director.

Licensed Practical Nurse – Health Department

This position is responsible to promote public health through nursing services to provide disease prevention services and education, testing and immunization activities.  The position is under the general supervision of the Charge Nurse.

Custodial Worker – Building Maintenance

This is a custodial job responsible for general cleaning of public buildings. The position is under the general supervision of the Building Maintenance Director.

Registered Nurse – WIC

This is a nursing position related to the provision of health care and education to pregnant women, newborns and children and their mothers to reduce health risks and improve nutrition diets.  This position is under the general supervision of the WIC Director.

Field Appraiser I – County Appraiser

The responsibilities of this position include physical inspection of property and review of information on other similar property to accurately determine real property values.  Knowledge of Kansas property appraisal guidelines is necessary. This position works under general supervision of the County Appraiser.

Juvenile Intake and Assessment Officer - Youth Services

This position shall complete intake procedures on those youth referred by law enforcement, parents, social services agencies, self or other entities that request intake services. This position shall provide Level II Assessment services to youth and families processed by Juvenile Intake and Assessment, juveniles assigned to Intensive Supervision Probation through the court, and juveniles who have made application for a Formal Diversion.  This position is under direct supervision of the Youth Services Director.

Community Health Educator - Health Department

This position is responsible for assisting with maintaining a continuous dialogue with the community, assessing the community's needs and conducting outreach for community health. Specifically, this position will assist in planning, designing, monitoring, implementing and evaluating programs to educate the community and promote individual and community health. Will provide information, respond to queries, and engage with community members on the County's web pages and social media accounts. Assist with program-specific health promotion and marketing of services. May provide social support and advocate for individuals' and community health needs. May collect data to help identify community health needs with a focus on holistic health (e.g. fitness, nutrition, physical health, mental/emotional health etc.). 

Building Maintenance Technician – Building and Grounds

The Building Maintenance Technician II is a skilled position. This position performs a variety of skilled tasks, maintenance, and repair of county facilities, grounds, and equipment. This position is under the direct supervision of the Building Maintenance Director.

Juvenile Detention Officer – Juvenile Detention Center

Provide care and supervision for youth residents in a secure setting and shelter setting.

Parts Clerk – Public Works

This position is responsible for all aspects of supplying and maintaining a parts inventory for the Road and Bridge shop and for general shop support.  This position is under the general supervision of the Shop Foreman.

Assistant County Attorney – County Attorney

This position acts as a Prosecuting Attorney responsible for legal matters related to criminal offenses, traffic offenses, juvenile offenders care and treatment proceedings, and appeals.  The Assistant County Attorney works with defendants, victims, witnesses and Defense Attorneys pursuant to Kansas law. This position is under the general direction of the County Attorney.

Mechanic Assistant – Public Works

This is a mechanic assistant / general laborer position responsible for maintenance and repair of light- and heavy-duty vehicles and is also responsible for basic mechanical work and general road and bridge construction This position could operate road construction and maintenance equipment.

Accounts Clerk / Administrative Assistant – Health Department

This position completes billing for accounts payable, prepares vouchers for all Health Department and WIC payables, records, and deposits daily receivables, and performs other bookkeeping duties as assigned.  Duties of this position include independent responsibility for maintaining account records or performing advanced specialized accounting tasks. This position also provides day-to-day support to clinical and operational teams in the execution of all projects associated with meeting the objectives of the Health Department. This position is also responsible for the functionality related to the EMR software, including retention of records, liaising with the EMR provider/vendor, and ensuring efficient implementation of EMR utilities.  This position is under the direct supervision of the Director of the Health Department.

Event Maintenance Worker - Fairgrounds

This is a public contact, customer service, maintenance, grounds, and custodial service position. Employees in this position are responsible for setting up equipment, stalls, lighting, microphones, concessions, furnishings, and related equipment and activities that are involved in the smooth running of a county fairground. They also perform building, equipment, and grounds maintenance and custodial duties to keep the fairgrounds properly cleaned and maintained. These employees must perform their duties efficiently and safely. This position is under the general supervision of the Fairgrounds Maintenance Supervisor.  

Prevention Officer – Youth Services

This position involves the supervision and case management of juveniles and agency policy. This position is under direct supervision of the Deputy Director of Corrections.  

Jail Deputy – Sheriff’s Office

This position is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of prisoners in a Direct Supervision and Linear style jail setting. This position is under the general supervision of a Jail Sergeant/Corporal.

EMS Reserve Squad (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) – EMS

This is an emergency response reserve position, no benefits, with the general responsibility to provide emergency care in pre-hospital settings, provide care and transport for sick and injured patients, and promote education and awareness of emergency care procedures.   This technician is under the supervision of the shift supervisor and the EMS Director.

GIS Technician II – Geographic Information Systems

This position is responsible for responding to request for information from internal and external users.  This position creates and maintains the geographic information system (GIS) database which includes: assembling information, verifying accuracy of data, digitizing and entering attributes data, troubleshooting GPS units, working with and verifying GPS data, and performs related work as required.  This position consults with staff to operate the GIS functions. This position is under the direct supervision of the GIS Coordinator.   

Equipment Operator – Public Works

This is a general road and bridge construction and maintenance position which operates trucks, road construction and maintenance equipment.  The position works on road construction and/or maintenance projects and assists in processing and delivery of road materials.   The position requires the operation of trucks and various types of light to medium duty construction equipment and is under the supervision of the Road Supervisor, Assistant Road Supervisor, or Equipment Operator Specialist as directed by the Road Supervisor.

Safety Coordinator – Emergency Management

This position serves as the Assistant Emergency Management/ Safety Coordinator providing comprehensive support for the Finney County Emergency Management Department in support of critical base business operations when dealing with natural and or man-made disasters. The position under direction of the Emergency Management Director will coordinate complex disaster response procedures with other emergency response departments and agencies within the SW Kansas region in support of crisis mitigation activities with a focus to safety for responders and the public. Thus, requiring the Coordinator to deal with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload.

This is an emergency response position with the general responsibility to provide emergency care in pre-hospital settings, provide care and transport for sick and injured patients, and promote education and awareness of emergency care procedures.  The Mobile Intensive Care Technician is under the supervision of the shift supervisor and the EMS Administrative team.

AEMT – EMS

This is an emergency response position with the general responsibility to provide emergency care in pre-hospital settings, provide care and transport for sick and injured patients, and promote education and awareness of emergency care procedures.  This technician is under the supervision of the shift supervisor and the EMS Director.

Victim Advocate & Liaison – County Attorney

This position provides support and professional assistance to crime victims and their families in dealing with their rights and responsibilities within the legal process as well as community resources.  Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times. The position also works with department attorneys to coordinate witness participation in legal proceedings. The position is under the supervision of the County Attorney.

Legal Assistant – County Attorney

Under direction of the Legal Administrative Assistant, performs complex secretarial work of a legal nature.  Work requires the exercise of a high degree of initiative, independent judgment and discretion. Analysis is required for most assignments.   Procedures, precedents, or model legal documents are available for most work assignments, but frequently require some interpretation or modification requiring the exercise of sound judgment.   Must possess the ability to perform legal research in accordance with preliminary instructions as to methods of approach, source material available, and policy and precedent of the office. Performs related work as required.

Part-Time Office Manager – Juvenile Detention Center
