Susan was elected as the County Attorney in 2012 and began her first four-year term in 2013. She plans to run again in 2020, when she's up next for re-election.
Susan supervises an office of 19 staff, including attorneys and legal secretaries. She also works with local law enforcement to help with training and policy, in order to keep up with current laws and changes. She also wears the hat of office administrator, overseeing budget authority for her department, as well as maintains compliance with legislative requirements for how the office must run.
Susan must be on-call 24/7/365 in case any emergency issues come up that need to be heard immediately by a judge.
