Functions of The Board of County Commissioners
The Board of County Commissioners holds
regular meetings on the first and third Monday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the
Commission Room located on the second floor of the Finney County Administrative Center.
The board holds a workshop meeting on the second monday of each month.
A question was placed on the ballot
and approved on April 1, 1997 expanding the Board of County Commissioners from three to
five members. The three man commission accepted a plan and passed a resolution creating
the five member commission on August 11, 1997.
On August 27, 1997 the Governor announced the two additional members and they were sworn in on September 8, 1997. This ended more than 100 years of a three member commission for Finney County and making it the 5th county in the state to have five commissioners. The other counties are Coffey, Johnson, Sedgwick, and Seward. The Finney County Commissioners are:
